This tornado was 1 of 8 that occurred on February 4, 1971. It was given a rating of F2 and tragically 7 members of one family were killed when their mobile home was hit.
This tornado hit Fort Stewart, GA on during the afternoon of February 3, 2016. The survey performed by the NWS Charleston, SC found max winds to be between 105 and 110 mph. The tornado developed near Gate 7 of the Fort Stewart complex. It moved NE at 35 mph through the center of the base and dissipated near Highway 144.
An EF-2 tornado was confirmed in Pickens County, AL on February 2, 2016. Max winds were determined by the NWS to be around 135 mph. The tornado developed in the SW part of the county south of AL Hwy 21 and west of County Road 87. It moved NE for a total of 26.2 miles.
