23 tornadoes occurred on February 17, 2008 across the Southeast. A long-track tornado (75.63 miles) moved from Russell County, AL into 5 counties in Georgia. It ended near Roberta in Crawford County.
Late February 13 into early February 14, 2000, 3 devastating tornadoes struck portions of Southwest Georgia. Two were rated F3 and one was rated F2. There was a total of 19 fatalities, many in mobile homes. Approximately 200 injuries were reported.
This tornado hit Fort Stewart, GA on during the afternoon of February 3, 2016. The survey performed by the NWS Charleston, SC found max winds to be between 105 and 110 mph. The tornado developed near Gate 7 of the Fort Stewart complex. It moved NE at 35 mph through the center of the base and dissipated near Highway 144.
The tornado developed 10 miles east of Americus in rural Sumter County and moved east for 2 miles. A mobile home was being towed by a tractor-trailer. It was blown on top of the cab, killing the driver. Many trees were downed. A boat house was destroyed at Lake Blackshear on the Flint River.
