A brief survey was conducted through the assistance of the Clay County MN Sheriffs Office and local residents. The thin rope tornado appeared to have touched near the center of Section 30 of Cormorant Township, and meander in a south to south-southwesterly direction. It hit an abandoned farmstead in the southwest edge of Section 31, and appeared to lift and dissipate shortly thereafter. It tore most of the roof off a barn and additional roofing panels off other farm buildings.
Tornado touchdown Saturday south of Middle Cormorant and just north of Lake Ida.
You can see in the video below of the weak tornado taking out the grainery on a now-vacant farm, says Connie Braton.
