A brief, weak tornado touched down just southwest of Perrin Circle in Laurens County Wednesday evening around 830 PM.  Residents described a “wispy” funnel that first touched down in a field, damaged a carport, and uprooted several trees as it moved into a wooded area. The weak tornado intermittently touched down and lifted, changing directions as an outflow from storms to the southwest overtook the tornado. A few more trees were downed and several large branches broken as the circulation weakened and approached Cooley Road. Some minor damage occurred to an old barn as well as minor structural damage to a couple of houses. No damage was observed on the north side of Cooley Road.
