During the early morning hours of April 15th, an EF-O tornado with max winds of 75 mph touched down about in the Biscayne Downs Subdivision near the Broward River just west of Interstate 95. The tornado knocked trees down along Sarasota Lane and Secretariat Drive North and destroyed a sunroom along Riva Ridge Drive. This tornado likely lifted before it crossed the Broward River, with sporadic damage occurring through Oceanway before touching back down along Grover Road, with significant tree damage occurring along Boney Road and Starratt Road near Edwards Creek. Local broadcast media then relayed video of the tornado as it bypassed Black Hammock Island near the A-1A / Nassau Sound Bridge adjacent to Amelia Island State Park. Tornadic damage was not continuous along the nearly 15 mile path of this mesocyclone.
