National Weather Service Melbourne Damage Survey confirms that a waterspout/tornado moved southeast along a 0.4 mile path from Sykes Creek across Glen Isles and Glen Haven neighborhoods. The peak intensity was estimated at 55-65 mph. A waterspout formed on Sykes Creek at approximately 448 pm and traveled southeast, coming onshore and crossing Island Drive, Anchor Lane, Glen Haven Drive and lifting near Phyllis Drive at approximately 449 pm. Damage was most significant where the waterspout came onshore, where a back porch was lifted overtop a house and deposited in the front yard. The remainder of the damage consisted of tree damage, fences blown over and minor soffit and roof damage along the 0.4 mile track. Damage along the entire path was rated EF-0 (winds estimated 55-65 mph). There were no injuries or fatalities.
