A tornado developed around 8:58 pm about 0.25 mile E of the General Wayne A Downing Peoria Airport, on S Skyway Rd just north of W Smithville Rd, where it damaged several trees, some home roofing, and several yards wood fencing. The tornado tracked to the northeast around 50 mph. A power transformer was knocked down in that neighborhood, along with additional tree damage as the tornado eventually progressed across I-474. A tree was snapped off in the Lutheran Cemetery. Tree limbs were damaged in the neighborhood to the northeast of the cemetery. The tornado crossed Harmon Highway/IL Route 116 and damaged roofs at the Madison Park Shopping Center. Numerous trees were then damaged and uprooted on the west side of the Madison Park Golf Course, where the tornado increased to its maximum intensity. The tornado then crossed into a subdivision damaging trees and roofs of houses near West Moss Avenue and North Kickapoo Terrace. The tornado dissipated around 9:03 pm just before reaching the eastern portion of Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
