The tornado as it tore through Downtown Salt Lake City (NWS Salt Lake City).
On August 11, 1999, the most damaging tornado in Utah history carved a 4-mile long swath through the heart of Salt Lake City. Tragically 1 person was killed and over 80 people were injured. 300 buildings were damaged or destroyed.
