On this day in 1987 a “monstrous tornado” struck the town of Glade, MS. 13 businesses, 220 homes, 149 mobile homes, and one apartment building were destroyed by the 2-mile-wide funnel. Six people were killed and 350 people were injured. Read the full summary here!

February 28, 1907: An F2 tornado moved through the southern part of Washington, AR. 100 buildings had some degree of damage. A man was killed in a home. Total of 10 injuries.
February 28, 2017: An EF4 tornado tracked for 50 miles from near Perryville, MO to just southwest of Christopher, IL. One person was killed, and 12 others were injured. The worst damage was just northwest of Perryville, where five homes were leveled. Suction vortices left ground striations/scarring to bare ground in Perry County near the Mississippi River. Source.

On this day in 2006: Two stewards were shot during a concert by rapper Kanye West at the NEC in Birmingham, England. Police said the shootings took place after people who tried to gain entrance without tickets were escorted from the arena. A man, who had no ticket, entered the foyer and was ejected, he then returned and shot at the stewards, one was in a serious condition after being shot in the face.
