Summary

Per the Storm Data Publication, this was the first tornado to hit Delaware during the winter months (December through February).  The twister moved to the northeast for only 1/2 mile. Four houses were destroyed.  Per the Morning News, Wilmington, DE, Biggs service station was demolished on the northeast corner of US 13 and Delaware 12.  The station roof was picked up and carried 300 yards.  Nine other homes and two service stations were damaged.  The Felton School with 1200 students was missed by yards.  There were seven injuries and no fatalities.
