A total of 12 tornadoes were confirmed on November 26, 2001. The strongest is the topic of this summary. It hit late in the night in Henry County, TN, southeast of Paris and moved northeast five miles ending near Oakland. Ten homes and buildings were destroyed, 46 others were damaged. There were two fatalities. Elizabeth Goforth was killed when her double-wide trailer was hit by the tornado. Her husband, Jerome and two sons (Seth and Hunter) were injured. 3-year-old Seth died from his injuries a few days after the event.
