Tornado Talk Summary

A significant tornado crossed through parts of Stearns and Sherburne Counties in Minnesota on July 22, 1967. It began near St. Augusta and crossed near Clear Lake. July 22, 1928: An F2 tornado moved along the Potomac River shore between Morgantown, MD and Tompkinsville. A cottage, two barns and at least 100 trees were demolished and thrown into the river. “A man was killed in the cottage and his wife was injured.”

On this day in 2010, an EF2 tornado hit near Big Bend, WI. A garage and pole shed were destroyed, and a camper was thrown 25 yards. A toolbox was found 1/2 mile away. Source.

Tornado and Other Weather Events From On This Day

On this day in 1958, a tornado tracked for 10 miles through southern Tuscarawas County, OH. A home was destroyed at Newcomerstown, and several others were heavily damaged. A man was thrown 100 yards from the destroyed house. The tornado is officially rated F2 by the SPC, but Thomas Grazulis in Significant Tornadoes rates the tornado F3.
