There was only one tornado confirmed on June 24, 1970. It was a devastating quick-hitting twister in Nueces County, TX. It destroyed the Golden Acres Trailer Park just to the east of Bishop. Tragically, an infant was killed. Read the full summary here

June 24, 1914: An estimated F2 tornado destroyed a house and barn near Halder, WI. ” A wedding reception had been taking place when the storm started. The guests stayed late, waiting for the storm to end before heading home. The deaths (5) were all in the barn, where the young people had gone to wait, and most of the injuries (20) were in the home. Barn debris was carried for over a mile.”

On this day in 2003, an F4 tornado wiped out the town of Manchester, SD.  Four people were injured.  Source.
