Tornado Talk Summary

A total of 14 tornadoes occurred on November 12, 2005. All but two were in the state of Iowa. The strongest is the topic of this summary. It had a 17.6 mile path and developed just south of Boxholm. A farm was hit, 2 horses were killed and a pickup truck was flipped over. Numerous homes heavily damaged at Stratford. A woman was killed in one of these homes. Read the full summary here

November 12, 1912: This possible F2 tornado moved from SW of Martinsville, IL to along the southeast edge of the town. An elderly woman was killed in her home. “The second floor was ripped off and carried over 1000 feet.”

On November 12, 2005, an F2 tornado tracked for 11 miles through Dallas and Boone Counties in IA. The town of Woodward was hit hard. Several unanchored homes were pushed off their foundations and destroyed, and two people were injured. Source
