Tornado Talk Summary

24 tornadoes were confirmed on November 5, 2017. Most were in Indiana and Ohio. There was an EF1 in Richland County, IL and an EF0 in Erie County, PA. A total of five were rated EF2. We look at one of those in this summary. It moved almost 5 1/2 miles through parts of Mercer County, OH and the town of Celina. There were eight injuries and no fatalities. November 5, 1857: Grazulis documents three tornado in Ohio on this day. No ratings are given. One hit in Knox County destroying homes in Harrison and Butler Townships. Four were injured. In Richland County, 8 were injured in destroyed homes north of Crestline. Near Frankfort in Ross County, more homes were destroyed killing two people and injuring 10. 

Twister From The 2000s

On November 5, 2002, an F2 tornado tracked right through the center of Abbeville, AL. Several homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed. One person was killed, and 20 others were injured. Source
