Tornado Talk Summary

Seventeen tornadoes are recorded in the SPC database for October 1, 1977. The strongest was a quick-hitting twister that hit in the Greater Cincinnati, OH area. The focus of the damage was on Seville Court. A total of 12 homes were destroyed and 15 others were damaged. There were 17 injuries. Read the full summary here

October 1, 1927: A tornado described as “a gigantic funnel of smoke and fire,” moved nine miles through parts of Hunt County, TX. A house and barn were destroyed 8 miles SW of Campbell. “Leaves fell in Commerce from this tornado but also fell in Greenville from an unknown and unlisted tornado.” Rating given: F2

Twister From The 2000s

On October 1, 2019, an EF1 tornado tracked for 13 miles from SW of Sullivan to NE of North Prairie, WI. Damage was mainly to snapped or uprooted trees, though a few outbuildings and homes sustained minor to moderate damage. Source
